New pet owners urged to seek out cover
People who have got new pets for Christmas have been urged by a major research group to shop around in an effort to get the best insurance cover available to them.
In a new report, Defaqto has analysed a number of the products on the market for new pet owners and has come up with a list of factors for people to look out for when picking deals.
The suggestions include checking the maximum amount limit for any one condition, whether loss of pet is covered and whether a policy for a dog covers persona liability.
Commenting on the research, the report's author, Brian Brown, said: "Pet insurance should be a priority for pet owners but it is vital to shop around and check that you know which policy type you are buying before committing to a purchase."
Established in 1994, Defaqto is an independent research company created to analyse information on a number of issues within the financial services industry.
